Thunderbird on iPhone.

What is known. What to prepare.

01 / THE RELEASE QUESTION

In development.
No date to circle.

As checked on 25 October 2026, we found no public iOS release in the official sources below.

The 1 October preview describes a native app in progress. The team aims for community testing in the coming months; it gives no fixed launch date. Preview screens are not a released feature list.

Read the evidence behind this status

The official development post describes the testing goal. The official GitHub release page contains no releases at this check. The mobile product page currently links Android distribution.

These observations support this dated edition. They do not prove that no private test build exists. Follow the official project for changes after this date.

02 / READ THE FINE PRINT

A preview is a direction.

The preview covers account setup, inbox connections and message composition. None is a promise of final behaviour on your device.

Still to verify

Minimum iOS version, a public TestFlight invitation, final account compatibility and desktop add-on support are not established by those sources.

Android ≠ iPhone

Do not turn an Android download link into an iOS instruction. A similarly named App Store listing is not evidence of an official release.

Keep your working inbox.

You can make an inventory now. There is no need to remove a working account, surrender a password or upload an archive to this website.

Read this edition in two passes.

First check the release evidence above. Then prepare one account you already control: identify a known message, find its server copy if one exists, and note what still lives only on your computer. Our examples explain the distinction; they are not results from an unreleased iPhone app.

Next practical steps

Make a desktop backup plan with a separate recovery check, then trace missing messages, local archives or sent-folder problems using one identifiable sample.
